According the Welsh Automotive Forum (WAF), the automotive sector within Wales generates an average of £3.2 billion each year to the economy. Many Welsh companies like GX are vital components within the supply chain.
GX’s design engineers have been helping find solutions to design issues faced by the automotive industry for the past 10 years. Their successes include developing a Head Up Display which can be fitted to a car’s dashboard, providing navigation information as well as the car’s speed. Most recently they collaborated on a project to design and build a working wooden car. The ‘Yr Glanaf’ showed how it is possible to build and power an environmentally friendly car.
As part of the continued association with the industry, GX continues to be an active supporter of WAF. Commenting upon the renewal of their membership, managing director of GX, Mark Helmich said: “We bring a unique perspective and a wealth of previous knowledge to the automotive design industry. We are fortunate to be able to offer a combined approach since our engineers have a wide range of skills from mechanical and design, to optronics and software.”
