The Monmouthshire Business Awards, now in their third year, were developed to acknowledge the innovation, talent and enterprise of local businesses within the area. At their award ceremony held at the Marriott St Pierre Hotel & Country Club on 10 October, an Usk based company, Homeglow whose innovative B-Warm Heated Seated was designed by GX Design Engineers, beat 25 other companies to win two awards.
Homeglow’s founder, Martin Lewis was recognised at ‘the Most Promising Start Up’ and thanks to product development team at GX Design Engineers; his low energy heated seat cover ensured he won ‘the Innovation in Business Award’.
Commenting on the win, GX Design Engineers’ managing director, Mark Helmich said, “When Martin first approached us for our help in designing a portable heat source we spent a considerable amount of time researching similar products to ensure we developed a point of differentiation into the B-Warm seat cover. It’s gratifying to see this commercial approach to product development has helped Martin win two of the Monmouthshire Business Awards.”
