The Challenge
Supply and install GX AQ400 passenger tracking devices to a variety of vessels in compliance with Cardiff Harbour Authority mandate; for trade within Cardiff Bay, passenger vessels must have a fully accountable passenger and crew tally for all departures.
The Solution
The robustness and reliability of GX’s AQ400 passenger tracking unit ideally suits the harsh environment of even the RIB craft which are capable of high speeds as they are able to endure constant spray and mechanical jarring. Using GPS and GPRS technologies, vessel locations, routes travelled and number of passenger are transmitted to a base station for monitoring and interpretation.
The Result
All passenger vessels now comply with the Cardiff Harbour Authority mandate and are permitted to operate from Cardiff Bay. Via our Tidon website, the Harbour Authority can view current vessel locations and passenger numbers.
