Lucy Williams

Design Engineer

Lucy spent four years at Nottingham University studying Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering (Meng), graduating with a Masters in 2017.

After graduation Lucy headed to Australia to commence an internship at a MedTech company where she worked on the design for heart valves and created precision surgical instruments used for targeting brain tumours. When her three month internship ended the company offered her a full time position. In April 2020, with the threat of an Australian lockdown looming due to the pandemic, Lucy made the decision to return home to the UK.

A bit about Lucy

Lucy is a keen skier and was lucky to work in a ski resort for six months following her graduation. This experience taught her vital client interfacing skills which led her to seek a role allowing her the freedom to design, whilst working closely with clients to develop functional prototypes.

Lucy enjoys keeping up to date with the latest innovations in tech and has a passion for sustainability and the environment which has grown since her time working at the Australian Innovation Centre. During her travels lucy most enjoyed photography and exploring new cuisines, creating a personal cookery book of her favourite dishes.

Outside of work Lucy loves to stay active. She ran her first half marathon in London this summer and has caught the running bug.
