James Scott

Software and Electronic Engineer

James graduated from The University of York with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, before gaining his Masters in Electronic Systems Design at The University of Bath. He is a key part of the firmware and software development team at GX, although his wide-ranging skillset has seen him also work on electronics.

James is someone who takes great satisfaction in moulding initial ideas into a specification, finding new solutions to problems and creating feasible products. He’s passionate about the benefit of cross-pollination, using knowledge and experience gained from working on products across different market sectors to find better solutions for our clients.

He’s skilled at acting as a bridge between clients and the team at GX, encouraging positive collaboration to solve problems. James’s role at GX has seen his experience put to good use in software development, schematic design, PCB design, exploring new technology, and bringing additional functionality to products.

James gets a great deal of satisfaction from supporting colleagues and has been effective in training students on work experience, some of whom may well become potential future apprentices following their degree.

A bit about James

As a keen motor enthusiast and fan of track days, James is currently rearranging his Covid-cancelled road trip with friends to take his BMW M135 around the Nürburgring. In the meantime, he hopes to get some practice by driving around the beautiful Anglesey race circuit. James is also an experienced climber and plays football and golf.
